1. Field Size of the  Flemington Racecourse:

In the  Flemington Racecourse, the space for racing is available for 24 horses only. Therefore, VTC is strictly bound to select these horses that qualify for the Caulfield Cup.

2. Handicap Weight of the Horses:

The Moulbourn Cup Carnival of horse racing is a handicap race. The VRC selects the horses on the basis of their race, class, past performance, and international rating. The high-rated horse can carry more weight, while the low-rated horse carries less weight.

3. Balloting of the Horses:

The balloting of the horses is performed publicly before the racing day. A horse can be included or excluded before the racing event. If a non-nominated horse improves its rankings, then it can be replaced with a low-ranking horse.
